I am back!!!

Firstly... I need to apologise for being a bad blogger...
I have still been busy creating but never seem to find
time to post on here... then as time goes on...
I don't know where to start...
so I have made the decision to start with the most
recent and maybe throw a few oldies in along the way...

I hope that's ok with you?!!

A couple of weeks ago I went to a demonstration by
the very talented Karen Hall at Crafty Bunch...
as usual I came away so inspired...
First job was to get my distress inks organised...
I am ashamed to say they were in a box above my desk...
you see.. I do use them... I think they are fab...
however... I am a walnut stain girl...
and it is hard to break a habit...

Then on Sunday I went out with the very lovely Mrs Jones...
Whilst out I stumbled across a "lovely" dvd storage unit...
I very quickly snapped it up... you see...
it needed rescuing...and I had plans!!!

When home it was sanded back...
through the mahogany varnish...
and the beech veneer...
until I found the bare chipboard...

Then it was covered using some beautiful kraft tissue
papers that were a gift from a while back...
you know the ones that you save for best...
the perfect time to open them!!!

So... using PVA watered down I covered the unit
with the distressed paper...

I then added scrabble pieces... thanks mom x

and some old stamps to the top...

and the sides...

Then I used my new friend Erika to label
all of my ink pads... isn't she beautiful?!!!

Each ink pad has a piece of foam...
no excuses now!!!

Finally... I made a colour chart from tags...
What beautiful colours!!!

This is the unit finished...
I hope you like it...
I certainly had fun making it!!!

Anyway... thanks for popping by...
I will be back soon...

Valentine

Hello again...
Well yesterday was a really busy day and I
just didn't find time to post my valentines
card that I made for Steve... so here it is...
The papers are Tim Holtz... love them!
I used an embossing folder to emboss hearts
and then distressed them with walnut stain.
The stamp is from Lili of the Valley...
they have some lovely images.
Anyway... thanks for popping by...
I hope you like what I have made...
Take care

To my amazing Sister

Hello again...
It's a special day today...
my big Sister Jo's birthday...
I wanted to make her something and
post it on my blog as she is in
New Zealand at the moment...

I just want you to know that we all
miss you so much and are counting
the days till you come home in March.
I know that you have had a fantastic
time and you have visited
some beautiful places.

I have made this configurations box
so that you can put in all of the bits and
bobs you have collected on your travels.

For the card I have used Tim Holtz papers
and distressed the flowers using
walnut stain (my favourite).

For the box I have carried on the
travel theme using tissue tape
with postcards and stamps on.
Then added a tag with my favourite sentiment..

Anyway... thanks for popping by
And thanks to my amazing sister
for always being there...
I hope you have a wonderful birthday
Love you lots
Nicky x

and made a card to match.

Monday 10 January 2011

Hello...
Hope you had a fantastic christmas and new year...
I have been really busy preparing for the
demonstration at Crafty Bunch in Ketley...
If you haven't visited Sue yet, you really must...
Well the demonstration was on Saturday
and I had a fantastic day...
I just want to thank everyone who came along...
and everyone for the lovely comments...
so...
I just wanted to show you some of my newest creations...
My bag made from my new Tim Holtz papers
(thank you Sue x)
I made the flower and distressed it using distress inks
and spritzed with perfect pearls...

On Sunday I had a bit of me time... I could lose so many
hours in my craft room ... I find it so relaxing!!!
This year I want to be a bit more organised so
I decided to make this card bag

Again Tim Holtz papers...

I made month dividers to go inside so that I
can look ahead, make the cards and keep them
safe, ready for when they are needed...

I then made a diary to go inside the pocket on
the front of the bag so that I can note
down dates I need to remember...

Finally, the back of my bag... a dragonfly as this
has a very special meaning for me...
Hope you like it...
Take care
Thank you for popping by

New Sister Card

Good morning... just a quick post from me today...
Another baby has arrived... seems to be lots
of babies at the moment... A beautiful baby boy...
Here is the card I made... I had a go with the promarkers...
I know the shading isn't that great... need more practise!!!

And then the card for his big sister...
Kacey wanted to name him
Michael Jackson... but Mom and Dad agreed on Jaxon...
What a lovely name for a beautiful baby...

Again I used the promarkers...
more pleased with this one...
but definately need more practise...
Anyway... congratulations to Sarah and Lee...
and of course to big sister Kacey...
you will be able to teach your little brother
some of the Michael Jackson moves when he gets bigger!!!
Have a wonderful day... off to work

Workdesk

Good morning... just about... I sat down nearly
an hour ago to write this post...
just completely useless when it comes to computers!!!
I have been wanting to join in with WOYWW
for a while but just can't suss it!!!
But as I am home with Sam
(he was poorly on Monday evening
and can't go back for 48 hrs)...
I thought I would be able to sit and have a
look at it... I still can't do it!!!
However I still wanted to share a few photos
with you...

Obviously my desk... too cluttered for my liking
as I am still waiting for my shelves
and rails etc to be put up...
Only been waiting since July...
Maybe I could put that on my christmas list!!!

I am soooo excited to show you this...
After months and months of saying
that my Inktense pencils were all I need...
On Saturday, I went to a demonstration at
Crafty Bunch in Ketley, Telford.
Kathleen did an amazing job at demonstrating
promarkers... she is so talented and I came
away so inspired... and so broke!!!

Take a look at Kathleen's blog...

Anyway... when I arrived home, I realised I
needed somewhere to store my new promarkers...
I hadn't got the car... so I needed to recycle...
After a bit of playing... I made a template out of beer mats.

I worked out I needed to make 9 pots
(for the different colour groups).
I used my mind's eye papers to cover them
in the corresponding colours...
I sanded the edges and bound them together with ribbon...
I then attatched a colour chart onto each...
I really enjoyed making these and I have been
so busy that I haven't had a chance to
have much of a go with the pens...

I would love to know what you think...

This is a card that I have made using bloom and grow
papers and various flowers distressed with stickles.
Anyway... thanks for looking...
I am off to do some tidying...
then maybe put up the decorations...
I'm sure I will find some time this evening
to have a play with those promarkers!!!
Have a lovely day...
